Dear Residents,

As many of you recall, during the summer of 2017, our water levels became dangerously low. This was caused by the loss of the beaver dam and beaver population in the outlet, which had been in place for over two decades, combined with extremely high temperatures. At that time, we discussed residents’ concerns regarding this situation at our Annual General Meeting and there was unanimous support to immediately seek out and implement a solution to address the situation. A work group was struck and based on research and expert advice, a temporary water leveler was installed. This has helped immensely with keeping our water clean and safe and our fish and plant habitats exactly as they should be.

Over the past several months, a long term solution to repair the old beaver structure has been designed in close collaboration with Department of Fisheries and Oceans, Department of Environment, Engineers and other lakes in the area. The design includes the addition of an integrated fish way to ensure that our fish population remains unchanged. We will be presenting this solution at our AGM on July 13th and encourage everyone to attend to ask any questions they may have and hopefully support this very important initiative. If you are unable to attend the AGM, the presentation and meeting minutes will be shared after the meeting on this website where there will also be a mechanism to ask questions and share comments and/or concerns.

Thank you everyone for your continued support of your Lake Association and your efforts to keep our lake clean, safe and stable for the many generations to come.
